What it solves

Push the velocities according to

\frac{d v _{p}}{d t} = \frac{1}{ε} F (x_{p}),

where $ε \in R$ is a constant species parameter. In logical coordinates, given by $x = F (η)$ :

\frac{d v _{p}}{d t} = \frac{1}{ε} D F^{- ⊤} F^^{1} (η_{p}),

which is solved analytically. $F$ can optionally be defined through a potential, $F = - \nabla ϕ$ .

The variables this step updates over a time step dt, and the discrete spaces each one accepts.
